Dreamwave Labs and Trexjet today proudly announced his debut title, LoopMage: The Infinite Trials, will release on Steam on March 9, 2026. LoopMage is a survival-roguelike that gives the genre a bold reinterpretation. In this game, players must strategically choose power-ups not only for themselves, but also for the enemies they will face in the next loop. This forces the player to raise the stakes themselves, meaning they only have themselves to blame when they are eventually overwhelmed. Solo developer Trexjet's debut title is available to wishlist now, with a demo planned for later this month.

Fight across three distinct levels with varied layouts that change the flow of battle. Your wizard starts off weak, but can unlock and upgrade an arsenal of five unique spell types. The critical choice comes after surviving each loop, and players must choose a permanent character upgrade for themselves while also deciding how the enemies will become stronger in the next loop.

The question isn't if the hordes will overwhelm you, it's when.



"For years, I've dreamed about creating my own game, and now it is about to become a reality," says Trexjet. "When I first set my mind to LoopMage, I wanted to create something that was focused, fun, and unique. My biggest inspirations were other indie games that focused on a few core mechanics rather than attempting to be too broad.

That's how I settled on the idea of a roguelite, but knew it needed a twist to stand out from the crowd. One of the most addictive aspects of the genre is choosing which of the randomly presented upgrades to take to build each run, but I hadn't seen any that flipped the concept around and forced the player to choose how the game got more difficult as well."

Your wizard's repertoire of spells includes devastating waves of fire, conjuring defensive orbs, and more. Each can be upgraded in multiple ways as long as you survive and continue to level up, resulting in hundreds of possible permutations that ensure no two loops are ever the same.

With three primary enemy types and an intimidating boss constantly growing in power as you do, each loop presents a new and evolving challenge to clear.
